Beyond the Product: What Meta’s Smart Glasses Reveal About International Business

Beyond the Product: What Meta’s Smart Glasses Reveal About International Business

While researching Meta’s smart glasses, I began to see International Business from a different perspective. At first, I thought global business was mainly about bringing a product to different countries. However, my research showed me that success depends on understanding each market.

I analyzed factors such as pricing, product functionality, brand partnerships, market size, and target consumers to explore what could influence the product’s international success. I also considered how culture, purchasing power, privacy concerns, and consumer behavior could affect how people respond to the same technology.

This research taught me that globalization does not mean every market is the same. Companies need to maintain their global identity while adapting to the needs and values of local consumers.

More importantly, this project strengthened my interest in International Business because it combines strategy, technology, economics, and cross-cultural understanding. It showed me that successful businesses do not simply sell products across borders, they understand the people and markets behind those borders.
