Summer Breakkkk
On the last Wednesday of school, right after my final exam, as soon as the bell rang, I rushed straight back to my dorm. It felt like if I slowed down even for a second, summer might slip away from me. After an entire year of hard work and effort, everything finally paid off with a trip back home to my family.
I started packing my things. While folding my clothes and organizing my room, I felt a little sad. This dorm room had been my home for a whole year filled with late-night study sessions, stressful moments, and quiet little times of peace. But at the same time, I felt excited. Excited to finally see my family again and return to the place where I truly belong.
When I arrived at the airport and landed, I saw my family waiting for me. In their hands was a handmade sign that said “Lisa is back,” made by my younger siblings. It was so sweet: instantly melted away all my exhaustion.
And just like that, another summer begins. It might be busier and more stressful with college applications ahead, but I believe this will be the best summer yet warm, meaningful, and full of memories I’ll never forget.
